Pics from my first Zendoodle class in Sunnyvale, Ca. Student work at the bottom.

Before adding shading. It looks pretty good, but flat.

Here I've added shading and a frame.  Shoulda taken the photo
before inserting in the frame, but I think you can tell what a
difference shading makes.

Photo of students work. We all got to frame our finished work.

I think it's done.

Originally I had planned to fill in the entire page of this 8x10 zendoodle.  But I like it this way and am not planning to fill in the rest of the spaces.  Space is just as important as shape I think.

Abstract

All I did on this painting today was the rope. Then I finished up this abstract I've been working on for a few days.

I started out with a line drawing, copying a doodle I've been working on.  I was waffling between blacks and white and gray, or pastel colors.  I decided on pastels!  Ummm.....  not exactly pastel is it?  It didn't want to evolve that way.  I seem to gravitate towards bright.  This is how it looked Tuesday when I left it at Deb's.

This is how it was finished up today.  It makes me feel happy.  How does it make you feel?  Cody says he sees a monster with tentacles and giant sharp teeth, but not scary.  What do you see?

Well, this photo is a bit blurry but, it is a work in progress. The underpainting is acrylics and I wish I had been taking photos of the process. But, now I am using oils to fine tune it. And, some of the canvas is still showing, so it isn't completely under painted.
I need a faster camera or something, so I can take a good photo without a flash. Or, take it outside. But it was wet and I couldn't wait to show you.
