The Red Scarf

The Red Scarf
I painted this at a friends house last weekend.  It was actually at a birthday party and while the party was going on Beth was teaching a mini watercolor class for all those interested.  I don't do watercolor very well and I won't post my first try at this study.  But, I like this one.  Oh all right, I'll post the first try too.

Have a great day!

You should do watercolors more often, both very good. Beautiful colors.

Fun party to be painting and all. Isn't watercolor freeing? Watching the colors flow and letting go... ah. Adorable painting.

This is beautiful! You've captured that free flowing expressive quality that IS watercolor perfectly. Glad I found your blog. :)

The artist, as is the photographer, is always the most critical of their own work. I don't profess to be an artist but I do have an eye for colour and form and ironically, although I like both, I prefer the first one. I think its the way the scarf flows over the shoulder. Keep painting I do love your work.
