This is pretty close to an actual scene I can see in a piece of abalone jewelry my husband bought me on our anniversary. Painted in acrylic on an 11x14 wrap around 1 1/4 in. thick canvas. The piece of abalone shell on my bracelet is only about a half inch round inlay, in silver.
